About Me
Jacqui Devaney’s writing has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Porter House Review, Dispatches Magazine and is forthcoming from the Chicago Review of Books. She writes essays, reviews and fiction and is preoccupied with books, art, music, class and how the these intersect and complicate one another. She is at work on a novel.
In 2024, she was selected for a Writing by Writers Residency in Breckenridge, Colorado and was an inaugural participant for A Public Space’s weekend writer’s retreat.
Every week in her newsletter, Dinner Music, Jacqui sends a selection of left-field grooves and retro gems that blends unpretentious charm with her deep love for discovery and storytelling. After dinner, you’ll find her out and about as half of the DJ duo Horse Opera at Cheer Up Charlie’s, Howards, the W Hotel, Coconut Club and more. In 2024, they played Seismic Dance Event.
You can read more about Dinner Music and Jacqui’s philosophy’s on music in an interview she did with Anne Helen Petersen’s Culture Study newsletter.
During the day, she works as a content designer at Atlassian.
